Surrealism

I was trying to somewhat emulate an album cover that I liked but also most things are different. I was trying to use similar colors to the album cover with the water and the red part of the flower. I added the mountains and volcanoes on my own.

For the painting I used acrylic paint and painted my entire collage in a messy sort of textured style. I then afterward used a black paint marker to go over everything to make outlines. I weighted the outlines in some places to make it look more stylized.

I started out the painting trying to make everything realistic. After doing that for a few parts I decided I wasn't having a lot of fun and I would rather do a more colorful cartoonish type piece. I'm glad I did this because I had a lot more fun this way.
