Scraffito

For this project I used clay, scratching tools and a clear coat.

My inspiraton for this project was to create something that was natural and something that is from Maine.

To start this project I researched scraffito designs and came up with the idea for a bear so I narrowed down my searching to bear scraffito and found something I liked and tweaked it slightly. I drew this out before teacing it onto my clay slab which I had applied underglaze too. I scratched out the parts I wanted to be white and added some texture on the bear. Then it got fired and I added the gloss on. Then it had to be fired again.
