Stoichiometry Project

Stoichiometry Helmet

My Contribution: In the stoichiometry project I helped my group in various ways. The first of which was my contribution to calculate how many liters of gas were exerted into the plastic baggie during the reaction. Additionally, I wrote and formatted many of the slides and performed extensive background research on the subject to help my team best tackle this challenge at hand.

Important Vocabulary

Reactants: The starting elements of a reaction

Products: The resulting element of a reaction

Chemical Formula: Format that identifies elements by their chemical symbol and amount

Limiting Reactant: Reactant that is completely consumed at the end of the reaction

Mole: 6.02214076×10²³ particles of a given substance

G-force: Unit of force equal to the force of gravity (Physics Concept)

Reflection: Two areas that I performed well on in this project were my work ethic and my collaborative ideas expressed towards my group mates. My work ethic on this project was evident as expressed by my calculation of the liters of Co2 from the reaction and my contribution on many slides. Additionally, I also collaborated greatly on this project by bouncing many ideas of my team mates for the placement and deployment of the airbags until we came to our final prototype. However, retrospectively two areas I believe I could've improved more were in my involvement in the testing phase and my time management during the project. The division of tasks for me and my group mates caused for me to not be the tester, however we should have had multiple testers to make the process go quicker and to get more accurate results. Furthermore, during the project I felt my time management was subpar as our group felt behind early on but my determined work ethic helped keep our project on track.
