Intergalactic Planetary

Modeling Process: For the first model we were fairly new to the modeling process and were instructed to create a basic model showing what planets are in our solar system, in what order and anything else we needed to know about the solar system in general. For our second model we were supposed to further improve our first model by either scaling the planets to size or distance. We actually followed the incorrect model, however so our orange planets are not to scale to distance at all. For our third model we were supposed to predict a certain factor about a planet using other similar data We attempted to find the gravity of a planet based on mass and we first made a graph and found the exponential line of best fit and then plotted our mystery planet to see what the gravity would be. Due to the fact that we later learned the model was inaccurate because gravity is based on mass and diameter are model was slightly off again. Our 5th model was the most complex one we did. it had us find the planets obliquity to orbit. the gravitational mass, and the orbital period. We first showed in our first part of our fifth model what all of these terms mean and how to find them. Then we calculated them and got the correct answers.

Reflection: I believe me and my group did a good job at getting our work done and throughout all of class someone was working on the project and accomplishing something of value. This hardworking demeanor also gave my group good quality work and while sometimes our answers were not always fully correct we were learning the method or made a tiny mistake.

One of the serous areas of improvement my group needed to fix was working as a team on the project. Although we were diligent workers most of the work interfered with itself so we could almost never have more than one group member working on something at once. Our group also did a good job explaining our models with numbers but yet frequently we lacked pictures that we could use to explain to people as shown in the third and fourth model.

Overall. I am happy with my contribution of work towards this project and I am content with the work we provided.
