I am Nathan Criswell, a Freshman at San Marin High School. I enjoy building things, Mt. Biking, skiing, and stargazing. Ever Since I was little I've always been interested in science, engineering and space. During Covid, I stargazed as many clear nights as I could (my favorite nebula is the Ring Nebula) and built many things. Including, an air cannon and an electric go kart.

I’m interested in physics because, one, there are so many fields you can go into, and two, I think it's interesting that you can calculate almost anything using physics. A space company named SpaceX is currently testing a 395 foot tall rocket named starship. During the beginning of testing their rockets, upon landing, they would crash but the more and more they tested, you could see they were slowly figuring out the physics needed to successfully land the rocket. I think it would be really cool to be on the team that helped make that rocket land. Some of those fields include Aerospace Engineering and Mechanical Engineering. I think it would be really interesting to build instruments that would be put into space or used to study space.
There are so many different ways to use physics from, putting objects in space to calculating how long until something will hit the ground. I think if I were to become a Mechanical Engineer or an Aerospace Engineer, I would want to help make the instruments that go to space or to another planet. One of my favorite Youtubers, Mark Rober, worked on the Mars rover Curiosity. He created a video talking about what he did and how he did it.. I found that video very interesting and cool and I hope to do something along the lines of that when I'm older.
