The goal of the Alternative Energy Vehicle was to create a car that goes as close to 5 meters as possible using a uncommon method. For example we couldn't use a gas engine, but we could use an rubber band.
Our car works by pulling a rubber band. This is done by wrapping the band around the back wheel axle. It is then unraveled by pulling on the axle. This causes the car to pull forward. It pulls for the entire time it's driving and bumps into a wall to stop. One way we could improve our design is by using pvc pipe instead of wood for the frame. Its one, lighter and two has less friction on the axle.
