Goal: To create an out door space that is functional and looks good. We were given a grass section of the school that could, "Use a little help." Our idea was a "Chill Area." Our area had two chairs, a bench, and a foot rest in the middle.
Before we started this project Mr. Williams went over the phases of the sun and how it affects us. He explained the patterns, rising, place, and seasons of the sun. He showed us graphs that gave times and season showing us how it might change throughout the year.
My group set out to design a relaxing space with two chairs, a bench, and a foot rest. We did this by; 3D modeling, sketching, and crafting!
How did we used the sun?
We positioned the bench and one of the chairs and an angle facing the sun. This hopefully lets you feel the warmth of the sun, but still wont bother you when your relaxing with friends. We took in account, the area where the sun rises, things that could block or amplify the sunlight, and how hot the material we used might get.
How might it be used?
The area is mostly used for socializing, relaxing, or working. The warmth of the sun and the smell of the outside would be relaxing to most. Either your working or relaxing, it would be a comfortable area to do either.
What materials would we use?
The materials we chose where; treated redwood, and wood screws. To be specific we would use 2x4 and 4x4 for the red wood.

Reflection
I likes this project for a number of reasons, one being we were trying to add to or make the campus look nicer. Out San Marin campus was looking a little...dry and unkept. There was a stretch of dry, weed taken land in front of the STEM building. Our group really liked the idea of having more space for relaxing, hanging out with friends, or a low stress HW section. We thought that out design fit the aesthetic of the school and fit right into its surroundings. I did great at communicating and encouraging my teammates to brainstorm. I could have worked on giving more of the work load to my team mates, but in the end it turned out great.
