My group consisted of 3 people, Brandy Barrera, Schuyler Co and myself. The trebuchet that we built had 16.5 inch legs, 19 inch arm and a 15x18 inch base. The rubber bands(3) that we used for this project were .44m There is one nail on one side of the base and a nail on the shorter side of the arm which was used to attached the rubber band. On the other side the nail that was drilled on the longer side was used to put on the string of the clay ball. The length of the string was 4 inches and the mass of the clay ball was 0.012 kg.
Content -
Mass of Projectile - 0.012kg ( 0.02 pounds )
This was the weight of the clay ball
Horizontal Distance - 5m ( 6 feet )
This was the distance the projectile had traveled on the x-axis (horizontally)
Time in Air - .22s
Spring Constant - 214/2 N/M
This is how resistant to stretching the object was
Initial Spring Constant - 20.74 J
This would be the energy stored in the stretch of an object
Kinetic Energy of the ball - 3.10 J
This would be the energy due to motion
Percent Energy Converted - 15%
This is the percent of how much PE is converted into KE.
Horizontal Velocity - 22.7 m/s
This is how fast the projectile traveled horizontally
Vertical Velocity - 1.08 m/s
This is how fast the projectile moves upwards
Total Velocity - 22.73 m/s
This is the total speed which includes the horizontal and vertical components
Vertical Distance - 0.2353m ( 0.7 feet)
This was how high the projectile goes
Release Angle - 2.72 degrees
The angle where the projectile leaves the trebuchet and is launched

I think this project went fairly well, everyone got along and put in the equal work. This was our 3rd San Marin STEM project that we have done. This trebuchet was worked on for a few days and the first time we built it, it was okay the first time but when we made the 8 modifications our trebuchet came out better. I worked well in collaborating with others and helping out in my group. Two things I could work on is staying on task and when I notice my team members struggling with work I can help them instead of letting myself get shut out by them.
