For this STEM Marin project it was a group of three, Cannon, Kevin, and I. My part in the document is Chimes Instrument. Cannon did string Instrument and Kevin did his on a wind instrument. We had about 4 full class days to work on our instruments. I used metal pipes for the chimes, alone with one wood block for the base and two wood pieces on the two shorter ends of the base to hold the chimes like a xylophone.
Content -
Frequency - The number of vibrations (wave) per second
Wavelength - Distance of one wave crest to crest (or compression to compression)
Wave Speed - How fast waves travel (velocity)
Amplitude - Distance from mid-point to max point of wave
Transverse wave - Particle motion perpendicular to direction of wave motion
Longitudinal wave - Particle compress and ratify as wave energy moves along
Electromagnetic Spectrum - The range of wavelengths or frequencies
Reflection - For this project I worked on chime instrument. This took me about 4 full class days to work on my chime instrument, mine is set up like a xylophone. My chime instrument had 8 different chime notes going from high to low. I had a wooden base at the bottom and two smaller pieces of wood on the edges of my base to hold the chimes. Making it appear like a xylophone,I had a metal mallet to hit the metal chimes so the sound it would make wouldn't be to loud or quiet. I think I overall did good on this project because I did my part, and collaborated well, and got my things done on time.
