A Rube Goldberg Machine is a chain-reaction style contraption designed to complete or finish a simple task. These machines usually consist of complicated steps to finish a task. The Rube Goldberg machine is named after popular American cartoonist Rube Goldberg, who revolutionized the machine. These machines could include simple machines such as ramps, screws, pulleys, wedges, levers, etc.
Original Blueprint: Final Blueprint:
As you could maybe see, me and my lab mates have removed some of the unnecessary devices, (such as dominoes and complicated lever.) We made the machine much more simple. In the original blueprint there was too much going on, we removed that in our final blueprint.
Velocity - The rate of distance covered in a direction. Velocity relates to our project due to how fast our cars or marbles will roll (in ONE direction.)
Acceleration - The rate of change of velocity. (Speeding up or slowing down.) This relates to our Rube Goldberg Machine by how fast certain devices speed up after being started.
Force - A push or pull on an object causing a change in motion. This is very reverent in my projects' Rube Goldberg Machine, due to the amount of "push" forces in our machine.
Work - The energy put into something.
Potential Energy - The energy an object has due to its height or position in a gravitational field.
Kinetic Energy - Energy due to motion.
Mechanical Advantage (Real) - How much easier less force a tool makes a task.
Mechanical Advantage (Ideal) - How much further or more distance you have to push due to using a tool.
Simple Machines - The simple machines my group included were screw, lever, ramp, wedge, and pulley.

Two new skills I have developed throughout this project is teamwork and listening. I have developed better teamwork skills by communicating problems and issues with my lab-mates. Teamwork is crucial in becoming a better student. I have to be able to learn and develop good teamwork skills to become a better student. Listening is also a crucial factor to become a better person. If you are unable to listen, people won't like to be able to listen to yourself. Overall, this project has helped both of these two skills and helped me develop them more thoroughly.
