The goal of our "Build a Band" project was to study sound waves and create and build four different instruments consisting of a string instrument, percussion instrument, as well as a wind instrument. We were required to make our instruments to play a full octave of eight notes. We also played the lullabuy of "Mary had a Little Lamb" as a "band".
Content:
Frequency - The number of vibrations (Waves) per second. The variable for this is f, and it is measured in m/s (Meters per second). The equation for frequency is f = v/λ or f = 1/t.
Amplitude - The distance from the midpoint to the highest point of the wave. The variable for that is A, and it is measured in m (meters).
Wavelength - The distance from one wave crest to the next wave crest (Or it could be from wave compression to wave compression). The variable for that is λ, and it is measured in m (meters). The equation for that is λ = v/f
Wavespeed - Wavespeed is how fast the wave travels (Its velocity). Because it is velocity, the variable is v, and it's measured in m/s (meters per second). The equation for that is v = λf.
Transverse Wave - A transverse wave is particle motion that is perpendicular to the direction of the wave motion.
Longitudinal Wave - A longitudinal wave is when particles compress and rarify as wave energy moves along (Parallel particle motion).
Electromagnetic Spectrum - The electromagnetic spectrum is the range of all kinds of electromagnetic radiation. The 7 types of radiation are radio waves, microwaves, infared, visible light, ultraviolet, x-rays, and gamma rays.

Me and my group worked well on many challenges throughout this project. However, our critical thinking and collaboration was our strongest skills throughout this project. As a group, we decided to split the work up in groups so each person could work on different instruments so we could accomplish the project as a team. I collaborated well on this project also by taking initiative of my individual work so I could accomplish my work faster. However, one skill I could work on for next project is my character. I found myself getting stressed out alot when the instrument would not work. I would not focus on ideas on how to fix my problem. For the next project, I need to be able to control my stress when things do not work out and solve the problems inventive.
