DO IT BETTER

For this Project I decided to improve and make a working model of our Rainwater Purifier. This idea was used on our solve a world problem project. I thought of the concept because our team didn't at first have any insight on problem solving idea so I thought of one and we improved on it.

Evidence of work

For our solve a world problem project we created a Rain Purifier. I decided to redesign my older non functioning model that just tried to represent the concept. So for this project I actually showed how it work and making it work. I made this using pvc piping but of course in real life it would be stainless steel but it was hard to get galvanized steel pipes that weren't expensive all together. This is because I was heating up the water which would allow the pvc to melt which raises health issues which is what this purifier is supposed to fix not create. Of course the real life structure were to be 50 ft tall and steel this was the best I could do with resources that were available.

IDENTIFY NEED - The need for this project was to create a realistic and viable solution to get more water for drought areas with many water issues, which we did
RESEARCH PROBLEM - We researched the issue using government websites which were guaranteed and provided the best available info about the issue
DEVELOP SOLUTIONS - WE thought of some solutions to the issue which seemed realistic. And also Incorporated necessities to humans to live a significantly more comfortable life
SELECT SOLUTION - We selected the most efficient and realistic choice because it added more of an urgency to this issue in which is most needed to be dealt with
CONSTRUCT PROTOTYPE🔧 - We engineered a funnel structure to collect water in model size. This provides a baseline in which our model can help people view the full picture and be advised on how to go about this solution
TEST SOLUTION - I created a working model which was based on my older idea. The structure would appear much as our model involving a larger scale
COMMUNICATE - In the end we shared our solution to the class with a presentation. This presentation provided a layout of our process to reach out to the rural villages in Africa, to provide information about the harm of dirty water and their health
REDESIGN REPEAT - I ended up redesigning some parts to make it more realistic and actually a running model

Reflection

In this project I received help from my parents to help me amass a working structure that cleaned rain water. In doing so I COMMUNICATED with my parents to help me construct this project. I did very well with this and was able to have the machine function properly for an example of how it would happen.

I turned this project in later and had bad time management, being a CONSIENTIOUS LEARNER is the opposite of that I messed up on deadlines. I definitely need to improve on this as a whole for future projects and allow for my schedule to easily maneuver around project building.

My CHARACTER definitely grew because of all the different obstacles and struggles this project had encountered. This allowed me to see the overall picture and see where I needed to work on which helped me work more efficiently. It definitely helped with a lot of issues and supported a lot of the project

My COLLABORATION for this project was struggling because I had to receive help from my parents it was sometimes hard to be on the same page for different reasons or opinions which constricted working together to do something faster. overall I need to change the layout of producing a project.
