Describe your performance :
1.Do u consider your effort to be successful or failure?
I consider my effort for the first play was lead to a failure because my knowledge and my courage to make a decision are quite weak. Hence, I always doubt my decision and last a wrong decision. For example, there is one question that asks about whether should I decide to focus on declining the carbon emissions or urgency on methane gas. As I am not knowledgeable about the properties of methane. I tend to choose to focus on declining the carbon emissions which lead me to a wrong decision because slashing methane emissions would have been the quickest way to slow global warming because it traps far more heat than CO2 but doesn’t last as long in the atmosphere
2. How do you compare with other players around the world?
Based on the data that shows, I could see that percentage of players around the world who get warming more than 2 Celsius was 28% and I was listed among the 28% of players who ended up in that range. In specific, I got 2.07C after 2050 which is above the limit that needs to be maintained. The amount of CO2 gigatonnes that successfully reduce was 15.3 however that progress still not successful to reduce half of it.
Second Play Discussion
What did u do differently?
I make a different decision by taking the other answers that I thought were right or I doubt in the first play. Furthermore, for the second play, I not focusing on my effort point when I did a decision because I learned from my mistake that I should concentrate on the effect of my decision rather than the cost it will take. Sometimes, worthy things have an expensive price. However, the still small effort could be getting a high chance of success. So intelligence in decision-making was important especially for a leader as their decision could change a lot of things.
2. Did u do better or worse?
My result for the second play was better than the prior one. This is because I success to identify which solution is worth it and suitable for reducing net carbon emissions. However, my result for the second play is unsuccessfully to gain a net zero emission and below the limit of 1.5 C even though I tried my best.
3. If this is the real world, what action do u think is hardest to implement?
Get unity and agreement from all the countries to make changes towards a better way to prevent the increase of climate change.
Why?
All the country have their vision and mission toward enhancing their country. Furthermore, if some enforcement were enforced, not all of the country would obey the law. And maybe that certain country doesn’t have enough funds or budget to improve their technologies and making research to discover more about other renewable energy
Conclusion
Describe your awarenesss and knowledge of climate change before this activity.
Sincerity be told, I already knew a little bit about climate change, but I never participated in any campaigns or actions that had anything to do with it. I only learned about these problems from textbooks or social media, but I didn't realise how serious the situation is on a worldwide scale.
2. Describe your awareness and knowledge of climate change after this activity.
As a result of this exercise, I learned a lot of new facts, which boosted my awareness of and knowledge of climate change. For instance, the globe has to maintain the global temperature below 1.5C as a safe limit. I also got to know more about how we can fix this earth from climate changes.
3. What is the best thing you have learned from this serious game activity?
The best things that I learned from this game were how the UN organisation and leaders throughout the world worked to keep emissions at a net zero level until 2050 and hit the record 1.5C. I also learnt more specifics about the concerns related to climate change on our globe and how to effectively address them. In addition, this activity taught me how to choose responses wisely, and I was able to learn from my mistakes in the second round.
4. On a scale of 1-5 where 1-strongly disagree and 5-strongly agree - Do you agree that playing digital game role-playing like this makes you more aware and knowledgable about the issue of climate change? Why do you rate it as such?
I would rate it a 5, and the reason for this is that I really believe that playing this game has increased my awareness of and knowledge of climate change-related topics. One of them is that I now fully understand the causes of the increase in our planet's temperature. In addition, I learned the solutions to these issues so that we may work to resolve them for a better society in the long run.
5. On a scale of 1-5 where 1-strongly disagree and 5-strongly agree - Do you agree that playing digital role-playing game like this improve your decision-making skills? Why do you rate it as such?
I'll rate it a 4 on a scale of 1 to 5. T his is due to the fact that while I play the game, I must choose the perfect responses to ensure that the goal of lowering the world temperature before 2050 is achieved. Therefore, it is up to me to make sensible decisions in order to obtain that in order to prevent further damage of our planet.
6. On a scale of 1-5 where 1-strongly disagree and 5-strongly agree - Do you agree that playing digital game role-playing like this helps you in building your skills as a future engineer? How so?
I'll rate this game on a scale of 4 since, after playing it, it helped me develop my skills as a future engineer because I believe that climate change is relevant to our job field. This is necessary because any structures or monuments we erect in the future must be sturdy enough to last for many years. So as to avoid collapsed or damage buildings, we also need to know the state of our land in order to do that.
