Overview
Today, we watched a video about AI and technology
So basically, AI is a short form of artificial intelligence known as a branch of computer science dealing with the simulation of intelligent behavior in computers. After watching some parts of the video, we can say that there are some intelligent want to build human-like AI. However this idea always getting misconceptions from people as they thought that AI is a super-intelligent being, which knows all the things and could do all the things.
Discussion
This misconception getting argument by the roboticist, Dr. Ayanna Howard. She has an opinion that AI is built on us and only mimics our thought processes. So truthfully, AI could not ever impersonate humans unless humans put their intelligence towards them. For example, baby X which have a virtual brain and virtual neurons yet it uses nodes to learn and get information.
In our discussion, we discussed how this usage of technology and AI could bring bad impacts on humans in the future. For example, the usage of technology such as smart machines in the factory would decrease the number of workers. From that, we concluded that the usage of smart machines could lead to a decrease in job opportunities. Hence humans will need to compete with both humankind and smart machines to get a job. Lastly, the usage of technology also brings bad impacts on humans. For example, the evolution of bombs, firearms, and weapons have to lead to much destruction and death. In conclusion, we can conclude that technology is very helpful in improving the effectiveness of human life yet it also could bring a tragic ending to the human if it is used in the wrong way and with the wrong goals.
