Today's seminar was shared by Mr Clearence and Ms Aliah who are final year students of engineering computer and communication system engineering. The topic of today's discussion is Your Own Learning Orthodox (YOLO). First, the speaker introduced themselves and gave some advice on how to get by throughout the degree term while taking part in several activities and joining a leadership organisation. They also shared their experience of how going through a lot of challenges over the past few years.
One of the difficulties Mr. Cl had was during his first year as a degree student. He initially believed that the degree would be identical to his diploma, but it differed in terms of learning, schedules, and time management. To live during the degree period, he must learn to adapt to new circumstances and an unfamiliar environment. Therefore, he offers some advice on the things he did over the years to shape who he is today. Firstly, as first-year students, we should know which subjects that hardcore and very challenging to pass. From that, we can organize our schedule in order to perform in that certain subject.
Next, choose a few pals to formed your study group. It would be better to be less than 5 because we need to priorities quality over quantity. This study group could be able to improve your knowledge in a subject you struggle with. Sharing knowledge with members of study group may broaden the view of perspective for the students. Additionally, students can plan their schedule in that semester to decrease their engagement in the curriculum and leadership programme once they are aware of the difficult topic that they must pass. As a result, the students might have enough time to concentrate on their academic study. Last but not least, Mr. Cl. urges everyone to constantly share their knowledge with other classmates because doing so could help them better understand it self.

Then, we proceed to the main topic of the day which is Learning Orthodox. Both speakers instructed us to form groups of six people before going over the three different ways that people learn. It was kinesthetics, auditory, and visual, which each has a different way of helping people learn. However, Most people only have a preference for one learning style, although a small percentage have two or more. Yet, a person's level of learning style ability does not necessarily reflect their Level of intelligence.
The game's rules were now explained, and each group had to split its members into three smaller units. Each subgroup in the first round will only use one of the three learning styles which visual, auditory, or kinesthetic. Then, during the following round, each subgroup group will alternate their learning methods until they have experienced them all. Next, each subgroup is assigned to move to a certain place to do some task that has been given. Then all the members need to gather and discuss among themselves in order to puzzle up the problem and win the game. The game has a set time limit and the mode is from easy to hard.
Discussion session among the group members
In the end, all of the students eventually have an opportunity to discover every method of learning and determine which is best for them. After all, playing games while learning a new skill was so much fun. As I discovered that my preferred learning styles were tactile and visual, I hope the following session will include a game and other physical activity.
