Monday: We got our acrylic base with the letters on it. As of now that's what we are planning on sticking to. Its the easiest for us. We accomplished two things today. The 3D model was a little bit modified to meet the requirements of the acrylic material and we added the lines so its easier bend it up. As far as the other goal we created approximately 3-4 sheets of the material. By using the table saw to cut up the acrylic so we have enough to double up on the base of our project. Using just one sheet would be way too flimsy and not durable to hold the weight that will be in our project.
Tuesday: Today we had a design of our model that didn't fully finish CNS cutting so we decided to use that as our testing for bending it up. The idea is to use the heat gun around the sides so when it heats up we can be able to bend it. So when we tried it heated up but we used a ruler to bend it up which caused the rest of the design to be uneven and they were unevenly bent. Tomorrow we are going to try finding a better and effective strategy to get all of it to be bent together.
Wednesday: got materials
Thursday: rojas absent, looked at how to build scale using load cells
Friday: emailed about making copies
Plan Moving Forward: Focusing on the technological aspect while still CNS the rest of our build.
