Monday: We began the period by retrieving the metal from Wynnie's car as she had taken it home for the weekend. Once we retrieved it, we continued the period by trying to file down the metal to make the indented parts thinner. We bent the metal back and forth in hopes to crack it in parts. We were able to make a ton of progress through that and hope to finish it up by Wednesday.
Tuesday: We began this period by getting right to work on filing it down. We were able to get it pretty close and were able to use metal cutters to get the last little bit off. We then had to clean up the edges and file down some of the notches. As we were doing that we began to doubt the appearance of it as it looked messy. We ultimately decided that it was going to take too much time and still not look good or be accurate enough. We decided that it would be better to switch to acrylic.
Wednesday: We came into class and Mr. Rojas had already cut some of it out for us using the acrylic. We instantly liked the result better than the metal. We had to drill in some more screws to keep the acrylic from popping up while it was being cut.
Thursday: We finished the cut and prepared to cut more layers.
Friday: No School
