To start off with Karl Blossfeldt, I made an information board including facts and the type of drawings/photographs he made. The medium I mostly used was pencil and I used mostly pen for my text to make it stand out more. I also attempted to imitate his own drawings using pencil as it was one of the medium Karl Blossfeldt used. Additionally, I added some photographs that were printed out to show the actual photographs so it was more accurate. Lastly, some drawings were just plant/nature drawings and not Karl Blossfeldt's drawings. I added them to add more drawings to the page and to add examples of natural form that was not Karl Blossfeldt's. I personally really like the enhanced shadows aspect of my drawing because of the black and white parts. My favourite part of the art I made was the rose but i think i could improve on the plant on the bottom left of the page.
For this topic, our main project is to create a charcoal drawing of a photograph that we took on our own and draw the photograph and coffee paper. The first step was to create the coffee paper so that it was ready for when I draw. To do that, we just spilled coffee on paper and let it dry. The next step was to photograph the subject (the thing we were going to draw). The photograph I took is the picture on the right. It was picked out of series of different photographs and I chose this one because I loved the contrast and the simplicity yet detail taken. Although you can see the lamp or random things in the background, I just figured that I wouldn't add that in the actual drawing so this was chosen. The next thing that I did was to practice in my sketchbook. For this, I used charoal sticks or pencils along with black and white chalk sticks. The practice can be seen below the photographed photo. I tried to keep the image as large as I can in the drawing so that the drawing wasn't too small and fit perfectly. Additionally, I kept the brightness of my iPad (the photograph) as high as I could to prevent any mistakes and so that I can see clearer. I tried to contrast the dark and brightness more in the drawing but I wish that I could enhance the brighter parts more since most of the parts were dark. I also thing that the drawing was a bit smudged in some parts so I wish that will improve when I draw on the actual coffee paper.
This is my framed art work for the bio-art. The animal I chose was the blacktip reef shark
