Different shapes, figures, colors, and words creatively orchestrated to represent how we view the world
by Cate Jasmine Ong, Grade 11 Paul
Reach for the moon, for if you fail, you’ll fall amidst the stars
“But,” I asked my mom, “What if I never get that far?”
Some people grow to be the greats, yet even though I’ve tried
I’m somehow still not good enough
Why is that?” I sighed.
“I want to be remembered, make an impact to the world;
Leave it better than I found it — but I’m just a normal girl.”
If you find me stranded on a star, I’ll share this tale I bet
For my mother’s words of wisdom I for sure will not forget.

#1 The Matchbox
I sit in a darkened room, with only a match for company.
I think to myself, "Am I courageous enough to light it?"
I strike hard, the fire glows, shedding light to that that knows none.

Fear and dread stem from the deep
The depths that know no bound
Fathomless, restless, and rarely asleep
Continuing to elude and confound

Typical school curriculum may not focus much on the arts, but our fellow students sure do! The Nouvelles team collected a bunch of creative works from senior high school students, and we finally get to share it with the rest of the JCA community!
Thanks to the student volunteers who gladly gave their art pieces for us to include here in the website! On behalf of Nouvelles, thank you for your entries; all of the art is amazingly put together! We hope that all viewers enjoy the artworks made by our fellow JCA students. Let's see what our artists have to say about their pieces!
