There are many English-speaking realtors in town who will show you apartments (or house), and they will send links as soon as they know you are coming, but they will probably not make appointments for specific houses until you are actually in town.

Be aware, ALL moves after you land on base require either an ID OR a sponsor to sign you on base. You need to get with your school secretary ASAP to get your letter of employment so that you can get an ID.
Once you find a place you like, you will have to schedule an inspection with housing in order to move in. That takes some time, so be prepared to wait. In the meantime, start seeing some of Korea! Go to dinner; see some movies; check out your room at school and start getting things set up. There is plenty to do and know that the housing process just takes a few days to a couple of weeks to get going. There are many soldiers also moving during this time and the system is busy, busy, busy.
You will go to the housing office with your realtor, the landlord and housing people and sign a lease. When you sign your lease, it will be for one year (probably) and will include utilities. Check to see if this is a SET AMOUNT of utilities or if this is UNLIMITED utilities. This is important because if you go over, you pay more. It is not the end of the world as, according to DOD policy, housing is intended to help offset the cost of your new life, not to replace all expenses. Just know what you are getting into and be prepared! Having debt later that you are not expecting is no fun.
In Korea, the rent/utilities are paid in one lump sum for the year. The lease will tell that amount in US dollars. You will bring the lease back to the school and ask your school secretary or your sponsor or another employee who knows how to do this can help you input it into the appropriate system. It is pretty easy. In a couple of weeks, a huge amount of money will be deposited in the Navy Federal Credit Union OR Community Bank – wherever you decided to open a local account. You will make an appointment with the landlord to come get their cash. Be sure to tell the bank you are withdrawing that much money so they have it on hand! You pay the landlord in cash. They sign a receipt; you return the receipt and you are done for the year. Be sure that you schedule a RE - SIGNING before your old lease ends so that you do not have a lag time between leases. Also, once you have been here for a while, you may want to change your lease to end in June – but that can all wait until later!
