The Academics team is composed of two distinct teams: JLAB and Bookstudy.

JLAB (Joint Leadership and Academic Bowl)

• Leadership Team: Focuses on cadet leadership capabilities, testing their knowledge of ROTC history, protocols, and curriculum information.

• Academic Team: Focuses on core scholastic aptitude, testing students on core academic subjects through an SAT-style examination.

Bookstudy: This team focuses on practical community impact based on literary analysis.

• Members read a selected book to study its core teachings and lessons.

• The team then brainstorms and executes a community service project that reflects and applies those concepts in the real world.

Bookstudy:

• Have the book read before August 1st, with notes on the book.

• Jot down a quote that stands out to you from the book.

• Something you enjoyed about the book.

• Something you learned from the book.

• One takeaway from the book.

Results of Previous Years:

• 2020-2021 Bookstudy: Placed 1st Overall in CMS

• 2021-2022 CyberPatriot: Attained Platinum Status nationally
