Special Teams are our program's extracurricular activities and teams, which help improve teamwork, communication, and leadership.
Cadets have the opportunity throughout the school year to join SPECIAL TEAMS. These teams train for competitions, demonstrations, and performances throughout the school year. These teams are very similar to being part of a Varsity or Junior Varsity Sport in High School and demand great dedication from the cadet.
We encourage all cadets to take advantage of the many teams that Butler JROTC offers. Keep in mind that each special team has its practice schedule, so make sure that you are familiar with it, and keep up with practices.
Cadets are required to maintain passing grades in all Academic Classes, hold a GPA of 2.8+, and have no record of ISS/OSS over the school year to participate in Special Teams. Team Coaches and Cadre members can ask for progress reports at any time from team members.

Every school year, JROTC leadership prepares a field day to give the cadets a fun yet beneficial break from their normal work, as well as to get cadets from different periods together.
Volleyball JROTC cadets demonstrated their athleticism and teamwork at the annual JROTC CMS Volleyball Tournament. Despite facing significant training challenges, they overcame them to field an impressively competitive team.
The JROTC Orienteering team is a team built to help strengthen stamina and the ability to read a map. Teams of four must get to certain points in the right order as fast as they can to place in competition.
JROTC Archery Team cadets can experience discipline, patience, responsibility all while learning to focus with determination. JROTC Archery Instructors will be equipped to reach new cadets through this unique skill of archery.
