A conversion table can help you to follow recipe and convert quickly based on your available cooking tools to produce quality cooked and baked products, it is important to measure ingredients accurately. Measurement is finding a number that shows the size or amount of something we can measure. Conversion of units is the conversion between different units of measurement for the same quantity.

Conversion of measurement is one important skill in the kitchen. For us to get best result in cooking, we need to measure ingredients accurately. In baking, the ratio of ingredients needs to be exact to get desired consistency in baked goods. The following section presents some important measuring formula to get accurate conversion results.

CUPS AND SPOONS

1 US cup is equal to 16 US tablespoons. To convert cups to tablespoons, multiply the cup value by 16. For example, to find how many tablespoons is 1/4 cup of water, multiply 0.25 by 16, that makes 4 tbsp is 1/4 cup of water.

Example:

5 cups of water = ___ tablespoons

5 x 16 = 80 tablespoons

CUPS TO TEASPOONS


1 US cup is equal to 48 US teaspoons. To convert cups to teaspoons, multiply the cup value by 48.

Example:

¼ cup of water = ___teaspoons

0.25 x 48 = 12 teaspoons

OVEN TEMPERATURES FORMULA


To convert from Celsius to Fahrenheit, first multiply by 9/5, then add 32.

To convert from Fahrenheit to Celsius, first subtract 32, then multiply by 5/9.
