Q: What are you passionate about?

A: I'm passionate about my students and their future. Yes, I’m very passionate about what the students are going to do/be in the future. My passion is to help the students to go to that future. That’s why I always say, ‘Education is the passport to the future‘. When the students are not learning, I’m sad. It makes me sad when the students are not using their opportunities and not making progress or even trying to understand what they are learning. It makes me think ‘what is that child going to be like in the future and how are they going to survive in the future? It worries me, maybe I worry too much!

Q: If you could be anyone for a day, who would it be (and why)?

A: For a day? (yes) I want to be in the students’ shoes because at the moment, I want to know the student’s feelings because I used to be a student but maybe my generation is different from your generation. So, the feeling of you 7:30 until 4 o’clock in the afternoon doing the lessons and then listening to the teachers, how you get information and all those… yeah. It’s the truth at the moment, in the student’s shoes.

Q: What do you do to relax and unwind?

A: After work, I’m trying not to touch schoolwork. Trying not to, okay? (chuckling). Try to read books on helping the teachers to improve their teaching and browsing to look into what kind of academic programs that will help the students. Thirdly is when I’m with my niece. It relaxes me because I like to tease her. She is just 4 years old, that’s why I like to tease her.

Q: Favourite Ice cream flavour?

A: Macadamia nut.

Q: If you got $5000 what would you spend it on?

A: Helping some students that are not able to get the needs, yeah? Secondly is.. but $5000 is not that much though, it’s like giving money to my mom and dad.. and my niece who is studying in Singapore at the moment.. (you love your niece) (smiling) I have two nieces actually, one is in the University and the other one is the 4 years old.

Q: What is your favourite dish?

A: My favourite dish would be sushi. (oh you like sushi? what kind of sushi?) Yes, Sashimi. I like Japanese cuisine in general but to be honest, if it’s the real japanese food.. it’s quite different from what we have here in Brunei. (yeah, cause they have like raw food) I love raw foods, you should try.

Q: What led you to become a teacher?

A: Because teaching is my interest.

Q: If you can travel to whatever destination, where would it be and why?

A: I would like to go to a place where the temperature is different than Brunei’s, so that I can experience winter countries.

Q: If you got $5000, what would you spend it on?

A: I would spend it on my necessities first.

Q: If you were an animal what would you be and why?

A: Oh! I would like to be a bird so that I can fly everywhere I want and have freedom.

Q:How did you prepare for the marathon?

A: I didn't train at all , I just join for fun!

Q: How do you feel about your house team?

A: Oh I think that they are cooperative!

Q: What led you to become a teacher?

A: "It was an ambition. When I was a child, my father was a teacher so he was an inspiration-- a role model to me. So I thought that being a teacher is great. Seeing him work how he… he was really passionate in teaching he loves helping unfortunate children so I thought, "ohh, this is good“ Doing good to other people, you know? So that’s led me to become a teacher. There are other reasons though I have a lot."

Q: What are you passionate about?

A: So far I don’t like shopping, I don’t care about my appearance as long as I look fine that’s enough. What I am passionate so far is my career as a teacher you know, it gives me full satisfaction. Having the students around me you know when I see the students I believe that they are pure, the don’t have adults’ problems to talk about to me. Being around with my students for me they’re pure, their smiles are like heaven you know, when they hug me, my worries are gone so I love being around with students. So I never wish to leave this career.

Q: Favourite Quote(s)?

A: Okay, favourite Quotes. I have my own quotes though, from books? (any) Okay there is some quote, I can’t actually say it, probably I won’t be able to say it correctly. It is verses from the Quran. I wouldn’t call it quotes you know, it is verses from the Quran saying that “To gain knowledge is compulsory for all of us.” May we be Muslims or not and whatever jobs that we undertake, you do it with sincerity and pure heart. It’s something like that, okay? It is verses from the Quran, I like quotes relate from the Quran you know. That’s part of me.There are other quotes which I like about teaching, I have lots of them here (ipad). This is the quote that I love, one of the quotes “ No matter what I say, no matter what I do, no matter what happen, I’m always thinking of you “ You-- my family, my children and my students.

A.The job chose me, however, I love this job and I entered the profession after

A. Realistically, I would pay for my kids tuition for a year.

A: It came naturally.

A: Marking. When I was little I loved to mark!

A: I would like to go to Egypt because I want to see a Mummy.

A: I want to be a cat (Garfield to be specific) because Garfield is so cool.
