Do choose a subject because:

● You will enjoy it

● You have a strong interest in it

● You are good at it

● It will help you in your future career aspirations and plans

● You believe that you will succeed in it

Do Not choose a subject because:

● Your friends have chosen it

● You think it will be easy

● You have been told it involves less work

● Relatives or friends tell you to do it without a good reason

● You just like your current teacher

● You want to do something new for the sake of it

1.Have my choices closed any careers which I might later take an interest in?

- check with Ms. Blanchard (Student Futures) & Mrs. Sousa e Sá (Careers)

2. Have I talked over my ideas with my parents, form tutor and subject staff?

- you should, because another point-of-view is always useful.

3. Are my choices over-influenced by close friends, parental pressure or because I strongly like/dislike a particular subject teacher?

- especially in our type of school, friends and teachers come and go often and your parents have to let you decide for yourself sooner or later.
