As we look ahead to the 13th Sunday in Ordinary Time (Year B), we come across the amazing account of Jesus raising Jairus' daughter from the dead. He says, "Talitha, kum" - which means little girl, get up. As a theme for the week, we have been thinking about the times when we have been laid up in bed; unwell and unhappy. We want children to think about who and how they were nursed back to health - what has supported them to get up again?
Ultimately, we discover in this week's Gospel that it is Jesus who gives us life. With him and through him we can enjoy our lives to the full!

In collaboration with the Diocese of Arundel & Brighton, Catholic Schools come together each year to celebrate our shared mission. This event is known as the Good Shepherd Celebration. Although the national restrictions have many drawbacks, one of the positive outcomes of our virtual liturgies and worships is the opportunity to share these events with a wider audience.
We are very pleased and proud to celebrate this year's virtual Good Shepherd Liturgy alongside our fellow Catholic Schools in Arundel & Brighton.
2M took some time out last week to explore the life and work of St Margaret, known as the "Pearl of Scotland". Margaret is celebrated for her strong sense of social justice and her particular care for the poor and orphaned in society. She devoted much of her time to championing pilgrimages, as well as bringing up 8 children of her own!
In Witness Worship this week, Miss Birtles shares with us the remarkable story of Franklin D. Roosevelt. Commonly known as the 32nd President of the United States, it was a surprise to us all to learn about his battle with frail health and his determination to overcome the effects of polio.
Through his story, we learn that Franklin's faith was a central motivation in overcoming the barriers he faced in life and achieving his calling to lead his country. Powerful inspiration!
Some thoughtful, mature and relevant reflections from Year 5 this week as they try to interpret what the Beatitudes mean today. Aardash, Andrea and Maisie did a particularly brilliant job of summarising and presenting their ideas - it even brought a tear to Miss Nicholls' eye!
