We are so excited that the snow is finally starting to melt! We are waiting for the playground to clear so we can head back outside for some fresh air and fun. In the meantime, we made the most of our time indoors by enjoying recess in the gym on Thursday and Friday. We had an absolute blast running, playing games, and spending time with our K–2 friends. What a fun way to keep the energy going while we wait for sunny playground days ahead!
Items Needed: We are always in need of baby wipes, paper towels, and tissues. Thank you for your support.
Birthday treats and invitations: If you are planning to send party invitations, please do not put names on the envelopes. You will need to send in either 9 for the boys, 10 for the girls, or 19 for everyone. Also, if sending in a class snack for your child’s birthday, (which we love!) please send in individually wrapped items. (We do have some children with allergies.)
Just a soft reminder: If there is a change in your child’s afternoon transportation, please send a note in your child’s folder or call the school office. Our days are very busy and full, so I usually do not check my email during the day. Thanks for your understanding and cooperation.
Week of March 2-6:
RELIGION: We will continue to learn about the Stations of the Cross:
1. Jesus is condemned to death. 2. Jesus carries the cross. 3. Jesus falls the first time. 4. Jesus meets His mother. 5. Simon of Cyrene helps Jesus carry the cross. 6. Veronica wipes the face of Jesus. 7. Jesus falls the second time. 8. Jesus meets the women of Jerusalem.
MATH: We will begin exploring coins and learning to identify a penny, nickel, dime, and quarter. The children will have the opportunity to use real coins as they discover each coin’s name and value. This hands-on experience will help make learning about money both meaningful and fun!
LANGUAGE ARTS: We will be focusing on the letters Jj and Qq. The children are spending time each day practicing how to read CVC words while using a variety of fun, hands-on materials to keep learning exciting. It is very important to review all papers and stories that come home in your child’s folder. When practicing sight words, please print each word on an index card so you can play games together and focus on the words your child is still learning.
Number words: zero one two three four five six seven eight nine ten
SOCIAL STUDIES/SCIENCE: During the month of March in Social Studies, we will be exploring maps and globes and learning how they help us understand our world. The children will discover the four cardinal directions—north, south, east, and west. We will also talk about rights and responsibilities, helping the children understand how we can be respectful, responsible members of our classroom and community.
In Science, we will begin learning about animal life. The children will learn about different types of animals, their habitats, and basic needs. We will explore how animals grow and change, and what makes each one unique. It will be a wonderful month filled with discovery and curiosity!
🙏 Loving Father,
While we reflect on the Stations of the Cross, may we remember the great love Jesus showed through His sacrifice. Help us to understand that even in difficult moments, You give us strength, courage, and hope. Teach us to trust in You, to help one another carry our crosses, and to walk in love and forgiveness. Bless our families this week. Fill our homes with patience, peace, and joy as we grow together in faith. Amen. 💜
I am so thankful that you have chosen to send your child(ren) to our school. Each child is a beautiful creation of God, and it is such a joy and privilege to spend each day with them. Thank you for your continued and kind support as we nurture both faith and knowledge in our classroom! Your encouragement and partnership make such a difference in your child’s learning journey. Have a great week!
