I hope everyone enjoyed that beautiful Saturday we had. Hopefully the snow is behind us npw.
Tests this week:
Friday: Spelling
Thursday: Science-study from the study guide
Wednesday: Religion-study from the study guide
Friday ends the second semester. Only one to go with this super third grade. Friday is a noon dismissal with no lunch or aftercare. Please make sure that you have arrangements for your child.
Wednesday is dress in your teacher's favorite color. I love red, white, and blue----anything showing patriotism. We are lucky to live in America--the greatest country.
In math, I am moving on to Chapter 10; continuing multiplication. Still stressing to learn facts through 12 in a snap. Probability was a little difficult for some children. It was new to them and when doing it all together they had no problem. However, some had difficulty with the test. Be assured it is only one test and they will see it again moving though the grades. I will circle around to Chapter 8 and 9 at the end of the year.
This week we will be writing limericks in English. My students are really good at making rhymes and I can't wait to see what they come up with.
Mr. Dicker read their persuasive letter to do something about the pesky leprechauns invading our school. They got the go ahead to make their leprechaun traps. Leprechaun traps are due in school on March 16th. Please follow the directions given. If anyone is in need of directions please ask me for another copy. Student should be able to present how the trap works to catch that pesky leprechaun.
Reading Logs have been great. I just want to entice my students to pick up a book and read. I know it is very difficult for some. I keep telling them there are a lot of great books out there to read.
