I am working on a goal to help the students learn how to study, not just what to study. To support this, we will begin a short nightly study routine. Each school night and weekend, students will spend about 10 minutes reviewing a different subject (reading, math, science, social Studies, English, or Religion) The focus will be on building strong study habits such as: 

• reviewing notes or vocabulary 

• practicing recalling information 

• explaining what they learned in their own words 

These short, focused study times will help students become more confident learners and improve their understanding across all subjects- without feeling overwhelmed. I am noticing a difference on the tests and class discussions of these quick study times.

There will be no homework club this week.   We will be celebrating mass at 8:00 am on Wednesday Jan. 28.  Congrats to class 3B for earning the recorder award another month. Please also refresh any art supplies to start the year off on a bright side. A book report will be coming home this weekend based on important Americans in this 250 years celebrating our country. Most students already picked out a book that needs to be approved by the teacher. They will be reading the book, fill out a fact sheet, and creating a stamp to honor the person. This assignment is due on Feb. 3.
