Loom is not a fully-fledged video host in the way that NYU Stream and YouTube are. You will not be able to upload existing videos to Loom to share them with other people.
However, Loom is the default host for videos you record with that tool, so it's important to understand how to share video from Loom or download your video to share it elsewhere.
The free version of Loom has limited features. Make sure to get verified for a Loom for Education account so you can use all the features described on this page.
By default, videos on Loom are publicly available, so you won't need to publish the video or add users individually to make the video visible. However, you will need to share the video with people with either a link or an embed code.
Linking directly to the video page is the easiest way to share a Loom video. To do this, simply click the "Copy Link" icon in the top-right of a video's page.
This will copy a link to the video page which you can include in an email, a document, a Brightspace page, etc. The link will open the video up on its own dedicated page where people can add comments and reactions.
Note that while NYU Stream or YouTube require a user to be logged in to comment, by default, Loom allows Anonymous users to comment as well.
Sharing a link is very simple, but sometimes you may want to include a video directly within another website, such as for a lesson page.
