Grade 6 Social Studies Textbook: MyWorldHistory/Early Ages
Students will explore ancient civilizations through the study of history, geography, politics, culture, and economic systems. Students will begin to develop higher levels of critical thinking in considering why civilizations developed, where and when they did, and why they declined. Students will begin to understand why change occurs and to look at the meaning of this change. They will look at the contributions of the different civilizations, look at interactions between different cultures, and look at connections with ideas, issues and cultures of our world today. Students will use maps and timelines and continue to develop geography skills. Students will gain an understanding of world religions and an appreciation for the Catholic faith.
