• DOR receives social security data from the Social Security Administration (SSA) for use with the Colorado Property Tax/Rent/Heat Rebate Program (PTC), and also for use in fraud prevention

• SSA income data used for PTC can be found in two places: in the GenTax warehouse, and in the computation tab in the GenTax PTC return

• SSA death records used for fraud prevention can be found in the Death Master File GenTax warehouse data store

• All users of SSA data must collect and maintain only the data that is needed to administer the tax laws, and use the information only for the purpose for which it was collected
