Key words: Volunteer, Advisory, Non-profit Board
This is a science-based concussion education & advocacy 501(c)3 nonprofit whose mission is to create resources to help everyone impacted by concussions learn how to manage recovery and advocate for proper care- and inform healthcare providers on current best practices.
Ways to get involved: volunteer, advisory role, non-profit board position
Fully hybrid. Concussion Alliance is incorporated in Seattle WA. The CEO lives in Chicago. The COO lives in Seattle. The Board Chair lives in Sonoma, CA and is a retired Brain Injury Medicine Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation doctor. Opportunities to volunteer on committees (Finance, Development, Program) are available. Advising on development and legal issues are other areas of need. The Board consists of 5 members presently, and is gradually growing since incorporation in 2024; the mechanism for doing that is established by existing organization policies, so volunteer service is a good way to assess whether the organization fits with your purpose and vice versa. Time commitment ~ 1-5 hrs/month.
Susan Klein (DCI 2021, skk2@dci.stanford.edu) has volunteered with them since 2022, serving on the Board for 2 years
