St. Albert will soon start to distribute and collect field trip permission slips in FACTS. Teachers will notify parents of upcoming field trips a few weeks in advance, either by email or class newsletter. The permission slip will then appear in the "WebForms" area of the Family Portal. You can watch a very short demonstration on filling out such a permission slip here: https://www.iorad.com/player/2640704/FACTS---how-to-fill-out-a-permission-slip-using-the-Family-Portal.
Permissions slips that are distributed via the Family Portal will not be distributed in paper form. Permission slips that are filled out in the Family Portal will not have to be printed or turned in to school: saving the form in the Family Portal constitutes "turning it in" to the school.
What to do if you encounter a problem accessing the WebForm:
WebForms are best accessed on a computer rather than a phone. One of the more common issues is that the web browser shows an "500 Internal Server Error", which means the website's server encountered an unexpected problem, so the error might not be with your computer or internet connection. Try the following:
Check if the site is down for everyone: Use a service like DownDetector.com or Down for Everyone or Just Me to see if the problem is with the website or just you.
Clear your browser's cookies: Corrupted cookies can sometimes cause this error. Learn how to clear your browser cache and cookies here: (a) Clear cache in GoogleChrome or (b) Clear cache in Safari
Come back later: The problem might be a temporary issue on the server that the website administrators are already working to fix.
Refresh the page: Sometimes the error is temporary and a simple refresh can resolve it.
