Mentor 360 Mentors and Colleagues balance the three functions of learning-based relationships including offering support, creating cognitive challenge and the facilitation of professional vision in guiding the relationship they foster with their mentee.
As a formal Stafford County Public Schools mentor/colleague, I agree to:
Complete mandatory Skilled Mentor Training every three years.
Reach and utilize the Mentor 360 Mentor Handbook as a resourse to support myself and my mentee.
Attend quarterly Mentor Meetings at my school site led by my school Mentor 360 Ambassador(s).
Reach out to my mentee within one week of receiving the pairing assignment.
Establish a set of communication and meeting norms for the year during my first mentee meeting.
Meet with my mentee in an agreed upon capacity providing formal support and engaging in instructionally-focused, reflective dialogue guided by the Skilled Mentoring Guides. (Year 1 - Weekly, Year 2 - Monthly, Year 3+ - Quarterly)
Submit a monthly (or quarterly if Year 3+ Mentee) Meeting Reflection Submission to my school Mentor 360 Ambassador(s) as evidence of the support I am providing my mentee.
Support my mentee's participation in one or more Peer Observations, with support from my Mentor 360 Ambassador(s), as outlined in the Mentor Handbook.
Believe in the capacity of all new Stafford Schools licensed hires to be successful.
Maintain confidentiality and serve as a role model of the profession.
Encourage the use of the Mentor 360 Handbooks and Mentor 360 Site among mentors and mentees.
Communicate Mentee needs to the school-site Mentor 360 Ambassador and/or Administration.
