Response to Intervention (RtI) and MTSS at Durham
Do our students respond to interventions when academic or behavior problems arise?
Academic and Behavior Issues are almost always linked. In the RtI/MTSS process, teachers track students to determine when academic and behavior interventions are needed.
RtI is part of a Multi-Tiered Systems of Support (MTSS) process -- it is NOT a set program. The MTSS process does have guidelines that tell us when to step in.
Following the MTSS protocols, set up a tracking system for the students you are coordinating.

Steps to Follow
1. During formal meeting with Mr Ramsey and administration, teachers will write goals and contact parents. The RTI team will complete a FOG (Form and log) in Eduphoria/AWARE and contact parents with a letter.
2. Teachers must collect and contribute data to record progress on goals in between meetings.
3. Re-evaluate progress on a regular basis, updating tracking documents above and FOGs with the RTI team. Implement interventions below or as you design.
