March 23, 2020

Thank you to everyone who participated in the survey sent out last week. As I stated in my weekly message to you yesterday, we are making every effort to continually assess our eLearning efforts to meet the educational needs of your child and your family during this time to the best of our ability. Here are a few points of note that I want to reiterate:

  • All faculty now have daily instruction hours from 7:50AM-12:00PM and office hours from 1PM-2:30PM. After 2:30PM, faculty and staff, as well as myself, will respond to emails to the best of our ability within the normal 24hour policy.
  • St. Patrick School will remain closed until such time that Governor Murphy lifts the Executive Order and issues guidance about the resumption of schooling. As a result, at this time, you should plan for a closure beyond next week and possibly much longer.
  • Our Easter Break remains unchanged on our school calendar, so eLearning will remain in place through noon on Wednesday, April 8 and start again on Monday, April 20, and continue so long as the Executive Order remains in effect.
  • Beginning Monday, all assignments in all classes and grades will be posted by 6AM and will be due by 8:15AM the next morning at the latest.
  • Several of the faculty have been using Google Hangout Meets and/or videos of themselves as a method of connecting and communicating with students. This method of communication will expand, but please know that it is not something that will occur universally across all subjects and grades.

Later today, I will send information out to your children about different "theme days" and a challenge that will hopefully help then stay active. None of it is mandatory, but just some sun ways to break up the days ahead. Please keep sending pictures to Mrs. Kearney. I know none of this can replace being together, but if we can have some fun along the way, why not? I think we all can use it! (And adults - you can join in too! - Cue the crazy socks!)

Blessings,

Dr. Ross

Over 83% of parents surveyed agree that eLearning materials were easily accessible for their child. Another 10% stated that their child was not of age to access on their own.

98% of students surveyed said that they understood the work assigned and 100% were able to complete assigned work.
