A MESSAGE FROM THE SECRETARIAT

Dear distinguished directors, chairs, administrators, and guests,

Welcome to 2023 SEASACMUN hosted by Saigon South International School. It is an honor for SSIS to be able to host SEASACMUN once again – this time, in person.

Our theme for this year is ‘Protect, Defend, and Preserve Peace’. Today, the world is more interconnected than ever: from interpersonal relationships to global interactions, connections allow for harmony and order. Despite this, conflict and violence still persist. This theme calls for young leaders to establish constructive resolutions that will bring us one step closer to peace. In our eight committees, the diverse range of topics from evaluating the extent of privatization of outer-space ventures (GA1, topic 1) to the topic of the Berlin Wall taking place in 1961 (HSC, topic 1) urges delegates to combat conflict and promote peace.

Through this conference, I hope all participants alike will be able to engage in dialogue that hone the skills to actively collaborate, communicate, and cooperate with one another. Fostering the values of protecting, defending, and preserving peace, this conference will be a stepping stone for all participants in becoming the next global leaders of our world.

We would like to express our deepest gratitude to those who helped the planning of this conference: directors, executive members, administrators, and most importantly, our participants. It is thanks to your dedication and passion that SEASACMUN is able to proceed with achieving our missions.

A MESSAGE FROM SSIS MUN DIRECTORS

Dear colleagues, friends, and students from around the world,

It gives us great pleasure to welcome you to the Saigon South International School SEASAC MUN Conference. As our first in-person conference in several years, we are excited to open our doors and our community to all. It is a great opportunity for students to form meaningful connections with others from across the region, to increase interpersonal relationships and communication, and to cement our common focus of fostering peace. With this in mind, our Secretariat has worked hard at organizing a conference aimed at celebrating our ability to collaborate together, while maintaining a clear focus on our objective: Protect, Defend, and Preserve Peace’.  We wish all the students an engaging experience and hope that the exchange of ideas helps to bring us all one step closer to having a more nuanced understanding of the  most pressing issues worldwide and how we may all work together for peace.

Sincerely,

SSISMUN Directors
