2025/2026 Course Selection is open from February 3 until March 3, 2025
These courses are offered for students who are new to English Language learning. Students will learn the basics of English through practicing reading, writing, speaking and listening. Each course (EAA10L and EAB10L) is worth 1 credit.
In these courses, students will build on the English skills they have previously developed. The focus for these courses is to strengthen academic English abilities before entering regular English Language Arts classes. Learners practice reading, writing, speaking, and listening skills.
Each course is worth 1 credit.
These classes are designed for English Language Learners who want additional support in their other subject areas. Students will receive one-on-one help with their homework, often leading to better understanding and higher marks. They receive valuable extra time to focus on their studies.
Students do not receive a credit for an EAL Tutorial or support class.
These courses have the same outcomes and themes as the regular English and History courses. However, only English as an Additional Language students are in the class, allowing the teacher (an EAL specialist) to use instruction and assessment strategies more appropriate for the English language learner.
Students earn their regular English and History 10-level credits upon successful completion of these courses.
