ACADEMIC SUPPORT

Support classes are added to a student's schedule by recommendation from:

Grade 8 teacher
resource teacher
classroom teacher(s)
counsellor or administrator

and in collaboration with a student and their caregiver(s).

Resource

This skills Lab is designed to help students who need support to receive increased academic support with the regular curriculum. The Skills Lab teacher and classroom teacher will collaborate in developing strategies to assist students with meeting outcomes in their academic classes. Support will be provided in conjunction with the teaching of learning strategies, designed to move students along the continuum to gain independence in their learning.

Classroom Complexity Teacher (CCT - Room 119)

The classroom complexity teacher ( CCT) is located in Room 119. This teacher supports students who may need further support beyond what is available in regular classes or who would benefit from working in a smaller setting. Students may elect to attend daily or through drop-in, which is arranged through the CCT and curricular teachers. In special cases, students may also be able to complete academic credits in 119 as needed.
