Two Advanced Placement options are offered at the 30-level; you can review them below, or on the Advanced Placement page under Specialized Programs (tab above).
There are several pathways for students to choose from.
Post-secondary requirements vary; it is important to talk with your math teachers, and a counselor, prior to determining which pathway is right for you.
What you need to know:
covers financial literacy, measurement, trigonometry, consumer math, proportional reasoning
develops critical thinking skills that lend themselves to trades and/or tech fields
What you need to know:
covers measurement, trigonometry, exponents, polynomials, factoring, irrational numbers, relations, functions
foundation to entry to majority of post-secondary programs
This course covers the themes of Foundations of Mathematics and Pre-Calculus 10.
What you need to know:
it allows for additional challenge within those outcomes
it is recommended for students considering AP Calculus
What you need to know:

covers: logical reasoning, proportional reasoning, geometry, trigonometry, algebra, statistics, probability
recommended for those considering post-secondary study that does not require the study of Calculus

topics: absolute value, radicals, trigonometry, rational expressions and equations, factoring, quadratic functions and equations, reciprocal functions, sequences and series
recommended for those considering post-secondary study that requires the study of Calculus
What you need to know:
covers trigonometry, measurement, transformations, logical reasoning , measures of central tendancy, linear relations, probability, business and financial mathematics
develops critical thinking skills that lend themselves to trades and/or tech fields
What you need to know:
covers financial decision making, logical reasoning, counting principles, probability, polynomial functions, periodic functions, logarithmic and exponential functions
designed for post-secondary studies in programs not requiring the study of Calculus
What you need to know:
covers unit circle, trig functions, equations and identities, logarithmic and exponential functions and equations, counting principles, transformation and composition of functions, radical, rational and polynomial functions
designed for post-secondary programs that require the study of Calculus
What you need to know:
covers elementary differential Calculus and introduces integral Calculus
speak to a counselor about which post-secondary programs require Calculus
What you need to know:
this is a non-semestered course that backs with MAF30 over two terms - you must register for both courses
covers concepts and tools for collecting, analyzing, and drawing conclusions from data, interpreting and using statistics
prepares students to take the Advanced Placement Statistics exam in May; successful exam results can result in earned college credit
Grade 11 or 12 students may take this course

this course is paired with Integral Calculus 30; you must register for both courses
prepares students to take the Advanced Placement Calculus exam in May; successful exam results can result in earned college credit
usually taken in Grade 12 - talk to a counselor about academic planning for your math pathway if you would like to take these classes
