The Clothing, Textiles and Fashion course is designed for students who want to learn to sew or who already have basic sewing skills.
This course is intended for students who are self-driven, focused, and independent learners.
Clothing 10 focuses on developing an understanding of theory and then applying and practicing these concepts through hands-on projects.
Projects for the course are based on an introductory-intermediate sewing level.
Projects include custom pillowcases, a recycling project, and a crewneck sweatshirt.
Modules include intro to sewing machines and sergers, pattern use, textile care, clothing and textile sustainability, sewing for others, surface embellishment, fiber art, and beginner and intermediate sewing projects.
What you need to know:
This course encourages the development of life skills in food studies.
Topics include: kitchen basics, food safety, kitchen safety, food waste, baking basics, baking, baking with yeast, cakes, vegetables, fruits, grains, and the science of nutrition.
A hands-on learning environment will help students connect theory to practical skills that can be used daily in the preparation of food.
We reflect the cultural diversity of Aden Bowman with recipes from different culinary traditions.
Foundational objectives of the course are to help students understand, value, and care for oneself and others, as well as valuing social, economic, and environmental interdependence and sustainability.

Clothing 30 will continue to build on skills developed in Clothing 10 and will create an awareness of the role of clothing, textiles, and fashion in our daily lives.
This course is intended for students who are self-driven, focused and independent learners.
Projects for the course are based on an intermediate-advanced sewing level.
Projects include a recycling project, hoodies, a quilting project, and a student’s choice selection.
Modules include clothing decisions, textile and fashion industries, evolution of clothing fashion, pattern selection, pattern use, basic/advanced quilting.
What you need to know:
This course is open for students in grade eleven and grade twelve.
Food Studies 30 will build on skills developed in Foods10.
Students will work towards obtaining the Food Safe Certificate required for restaurant workers in Saskatchewan.
Underlying themes students explore: where our food comes from, how food is produced, and its impact on the environment.
Students will examine the relationship between climate change and our food system and how individuals can lessen their environmental impact by changing consumer attitudes and behaviors.
This class demands a higher level of expertise and student responsibility.
Units of study include food additives, food production and consumption, food preservation, salads, protein foods, local and international foods.
Labs are arranged around the four food groups and focus on higher level gourmet cooking skills.
Students will develop the skills needed to plan and prepare meals.

This course is for the student who is interested in the creative elements of design as it relates to home interior design.
Students will learn the fundamentals of the principles and elements of design as they apply to residential interiors
Computer technology will be utilized for floor plans and design of interior spaces.
This is a project based course and as such it requires participation and design presentations
