What you need to know:
Students are taught how to estimate costs of projects, identification of different types of woods, and various fabrication techniques.
Students will learn how to safely operate hand tools, power tools, and larger shop equipment.
Students select a second project of their choice in relation to their skill level.
The second project will involve all of the above, as well as layout, assembly, and finishing techniques.
Cost of materials is paid by individual students.
What you need to know:
This Survey Course will be a combination of Wilderness Skills (50-60%) Tourism (20-30%) and Career Ed (10-20%)
The Wilderness Skills component of the course will look at multiple knots with varying uses, setting up tarps for different situations, fire building with different resources and safely looking at knife skills.
The skill development will then connect with the idea of Tourism in Northern Saskatchewan and Career paths that can be taken.
What you need to know:
This course is intended to extend the students’ knowledge of practical and artistic woodworking and further develop the skills introduced in Construction and Carpentry 10.
The course is broken into two sections: Residential Construction and Cabinetry.
Some of the areas of focus are:
Safely develop life-long carpentry skills in a supportive environment.
Utilize a variety of hand tools, portable power tools and stationary power tools.
Investigate and demonstrate the construction techniques required in a typical residential dwelling.
Construct projects indicative of personal skills levels.
Become aware of the many different occupations required to bring a house to completion.

What you need to know:
This course is intended to extend the student’s knowledge of practical and artistic woodworking and further develop the skills introduced in Construction and Carpentry 20.
The focus of the course is the independent student project.
The independent project is chosen by the student based on their skill level and prior experience. It can vary in size, complexity and the materials used.
Other areas of focus will include:
Safely develop life-long carpentry skills in a supportive environment.
Utilize a variety of hand tools, portable power tools and stationary power tools.
Investigate and demonstrate the construction techniques required in a typical residential dwelling.
Construct projects indicative of personal skills levels.
Become aware of the many different occupations required to bring a house to completion.
