Mrs. Johnson's Favorites
Here are 2 of my favorite authors. You can try reading these on your own or having your parent read these chapter books with you. Many of these books have been turned into movies you can watch after reading!
Louis Sachar
Roald Dahl
Extra Practice
See the sections below for extra practice activities.
If you are looking to build comprehension skills try using one of these activities with any book you are reading. If you do not have a book try looking on EPIC to find something that interests you.
Make your own Comic Strip
Create a Wanted Poster
Create a Character Profile
Create a Character Profile from a book you have read.
How to create a character profile:
Draw your character in the center of your paper. Feel free to use craft materials you may have at home to make him/her come to life (If you would like you can print the template below).
Draw 3 lines from your character (1 from the center of the head, 1 for each arm) to divide your paper into 4 sections.
In the top left section make a list of what your character does to show his/her personality
In the top right make a list of what your character looks like on the outside
In the bottom left make a list of what your character says to show his/her character
In the bottom right tell an interesting fact about your character.
In the clothes use words from the character trait list to describe your character.
