First grade students at Frostwood Elementary explore their Limitless Curiousity by connecting art and science! Students learned about bird habitats and lifecycles, then got to watch a real bird build a nest, lay eggs, and watch the eggs hatch. Way to go Emma Lay for teaching such interdisciplinary lessons to her students!
Students at Bunker Hill Elementary checks their work for completion using this dry erase checklists for their art. Rubi Avila holds her students to high standards and teaches them social responsibility with her organizational procedures. She works hard to expand the Moral Compass of her students.
Artists at Northbrook Middle School worked together to install this magnificent Dot Day art mural. A project like this required the Collaborative Spirit of Every Child in the program to be successful. Fantastic job on this installation, Brooke Romas!
High School Art Teachers kicked off our September Sharing Sessions with their Favorite Things Exchange. Teachers brought some of their favorite items to order with their art supply budgets and got to trade and try new products. The Collective Greatness of our Art Teachers open doors to new opportunities!

Each High School will lead students to create two original mugs to donate to this initiative. Supplies will be provided at the Sharing Session on October 6th.
All mugs are due to Lindsay in December before you leave for Winter Break.
CREATIVE and BIG (and functional) is the idea for this project. (no tiny mugs!)
The Middle School Art Competition (MSAC) at The Bayou City Art Festival is an education initiative presented by Art Colony Association for students in grades 5 -8 from Houston area private schools, charter schools, and public independent school districts.
The contest offers middle school students the opportunity to participate in a 2-D juried competition, have their art displayed in public, interact with working artist and win prizes for themselves and their school's art program.
Art Colony Association provides middle/intermediate school students an opportunity to participate in the 2024 competition and gain exposure to people who share their love of art. This could be a launch of something bright and colorful fine arts careers.

The district has a vast number of plexiglass dividers available for your use. The most convenient thing is that they are already located on your campus. You will need to connect with your principal or safety officer to acquire them.
Why would an art teacher need such an item?
printmaking
drawing boards
monotype
any use you can imagine
After the district arranges disposal of this plexiglass it will no longer be available.
