Recommended channels:

  • DechartGames: husband & wife duo actors and gamers; recently known for their voice acting in Detroit: Become human as Connor and Tracis, respectively. They host livestreams several times a week of both gaming playthroughs and learning/chill sessions called Curiosity Chill Tuesdays! (Disclaimer: they are both adults & sometimes swear).

  • SydneeatIGN: a host from the daily game review site IGN, she hosts on the daily fix where she gives news and announcements on upcoming video games! (disclaimer:she an adult and sometimes swear but she tries to keep it family friendly.)

  • TrishaHershberger: a former host for buzzfeed, she makes her own content & live streams a lot of PC games that are geared towards teens. She has this game show on twitch called the twitch gong show where you can vote on which game she will play (Disclaimer: Some of her content is mature but she is a positive role model on how young people can get into streaming.)

  • Make friends and follow other gamers on Youtube

  • Network to discover who plays the same games as you.

  • Get a gaming device to start recording gameplay with a webcam, screencast software, Playstation camera or Kinect.

What is it?

Form of sport competition using video games; can range from amateur, individual vs individual, online multiplayer to national/international MLGs (Major League Gaming) teams competing in person (wikipedia).

How do I get involved?

Competition:

    • ESL Gaming (see left image above): the world’s largest eSports company leading the industry across the most popular video games with numerous online and offline competitions.

    • Apply for the XO Academy program: an intensive 4 week training program designed to help elevate the game and the name of passionate women competitors in the FGC.
