For the first time ever students will be creating original dance works for the J-Term stage in this exciting collaboration between creative writing and dance. Choreographers, writers, and dancers will work together in small groups to explore the dynamic, cross-pollinating relationship between text, movement, and sound. Local dance maker Megan Mayer will mentor students through this process; finding ways for everyone to discover their unique voice, to embrace failure and the messy work of making art, and to dig deep into collaboration.
This J-Term is perfect for writers, choreographers, and dancers who want to see their work on stage and are excited about collaborating with their peers. You won't be expected to do all the roles, you can participate in this project exclusively as a writer or dancer.
