Grades 1-3
Students who ride the bus will arrive in time to eat breakfast before beginning the day. Parents dropping off students should bring them to the back of their school.
Students will collaborate to solve an engineering design and construction problem using their critical thinking skills, teamwork, and creativity. These short challenges will start the day to help students get in an engineering frame of mind.
How are you going to go on a safari? You will have to build and design your "jeep" to go exploring! Once you're safari has begun, you will learn about how the many animals meet their needs in order to survive. You will learn more about the animals and what makes each one special.
You will learn how to use your design, engineering, and building skills to help the animals survive in their environment and to also build your own zoo! But wait! Won't your zoo need lights? And fans? We'll have to figure out how to include those things in your zoo!
Lunch will be provided in the cafeteria.
We will keep working after lunch to design, engineer, and build our structures!
