The year is 2050 and the Independence County has become covered in so much litter that the County Judge has declared a state of emergency. You have been put in charge of coming up with a plan to clean up the county and improve recycling. Your team must come up with a way to use technology to pick up litter and deliver it to the recycling center. Once litter arrives at the recycling center, it must be sorted. You must come up with an efficient way to accomplish this. That is your mission.

Students will collaborate to solve a engineering design and construction problem using their critical thinking skills, teamwork, and creativity. These short challenges will start the day to help students get in an engineering frame of mind.

Engineering Structures
Students will be presented with a real world challenge that will need to be solved by designing and constructing a "recycling machine". To meet this challenge, students will learn to use their creativity to pick up litter and get it sorted.

Students will learn to build and program their drones to meet the real world challenge of using technology to make reducing litter in our environment easier and more efficient. Students will have fun programming and flying their drones to clean up our county!

Chemistry of Water
Chemistry of Water
Students will work to determine if the "litter" has affected the water supply in their county. They will learn about the chemistry of water testing. Students will get to run their own experiments to see if the water is safe.
