Grades 4-8

Your space transit team has crash landed on Planet X. You only have enough food and water to survive for a few days. You and your team must make plans to survive while trying to figure out a way to rendezvous with the team sent to rescue you.

Daily Schedule

8:00-8:30

Breakfast

Students who ride the bus will arrive in time to eat breakfast before beginning the day. Parents dropping off students should bring them to the front of their school.

8:30-8:45

Daily Engineering Challenge

Students will collaborate to solve a engineering design and construction problem using their critical thinking skills, teamwork, and creativity. These short challenges will start the day to help students get in an engineering frame of mind.

8:45-10:00

Design and Engineering

You and your team have crashed on Planet X. First, you must design, engineer, and build a way to survive until the rescue team arrives. You must have food, water, and shelter.

10:00-10:30

Recreation Time

10:30-Noon

Transport

You must figure out a way to transport your team to the rescue sight. You must get there in time to be picked up! Will your rover be able to do it?

Noon-12:30

Lunch

12:30- 1:30

Programming

Planet X is a wild and dangerous place! You must plan the safest, shortest route to the rescue point to get there on time. You will work with programming robots to plan your route to a safe rescue!
